Online radio station threatens blogger over well-known browser workaround

The art of blogging like everything has its downsides. In Atlanta a radio station based on the internet is threatening to sue a tech blogger. They are going to sue him because they claim that he has copied information from their site and published it on his blog as his own.

This radio station offers jazz music and country music too. It offers netcasts as well. These are generally heard or received through Windows Media Player. This can be accessed as an application by itself or through a link which comes through Microsoft Internet Explorer.

The company used to offer direct URL’s but it has changed them recently. They now have new addresses. This forces listeners to listen to their station using Windows Media Player only and that to through Microsoft Internet Explorer. This way they do not have other music program encroaching on their stream.

Further more, to stop listeners from right clicking and copying their URL into another music player they programmed their URL using a JavaScript ruse. This ruse prevents users from being able to access a popup menu that usually appears when you right click on a webpage. This particular technique was written about by the tech blogger and now he is in big trouble. This is because the company claims that he copied it from their site.
