Sony Ericsson K850i : The Cybershot Did It Again

Sony Ericsson launched several new phones in this weekend. There are six new portfolios. One of them is Cybershot phone K850i. It is equipped with 5 Megapixel autofocus camera and High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) connection. This phone definitely is a competitive competitor for the era of “camera with phone” (not just a phone with camera).

The design is quite chic and shady. Available in luminous green and velvet blue, its xenon flash will snap, I think, better than any 5 Megapixel camera phones, such as Nokia N95. It features the ability of taking video on QVGA 30 frames per second (fps) rather than usual QCIF. Besides HSDPA which claimed can reach 3.6 Mbps of bandwidth, it will work in Quadband 850/900/1800/1900 MHz. K850i for international purpose, while K850c for China Mainland (supports Chinese-language Kanji font).

It has quite big 2.2 inch in 240 x 320 pixels. The 512 MB M2 memory card and 40 MB of internal memory are included, good news says the phone will support both current M2 media and MicroSD card which already widely used. Other than that, it supports common FM radio with TrackID and mp3 player (not Walkman though). The great feature firstly support is motion sensor with auto-rotate. In general it means that the picture you view can be rotated horizontally or vertically following the way you view it accordingly. This feature is planned to be included in Apple’s iPhone, but Sony Ericsson makes this feature already even better! Check the auto-rotate implementation as the video in here.
