Researchers have created a surveillant robot in the form of a fly. The 60 milligrams weight robotic fly, with the size of a real fly, made its first flight at Harvard University. The movement was also even adjusted to the movement of a real fly.

According to the researchers, a robot so tiny can be applied as a spy or a device that detects dangerous chemical. The small size and the fly-like shape will bring advantage to a party that is involved in a war, or for surveillance in urban areas. That’s why The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency fund a project lead by Robert Woods, a professor at Harvard school of engineering and applied sciences. Wood threw a light joke that people would notice a hawk more than they would notice a fly.

The issue is, most motors, bearings, and joints are made for bigger sized robots, not for a fly-sized one. This robotic fly cannot be conventionally manufactured, since to produce strong and light parts of a robot is not a simple process. “Simply scaling down existing macro-scale techniques will not come close to the performance that we need,” Wood says.

I’m sure you all have heard all the hype about Apple’s latest telecommunication gadget, the iPhone. If you are one of the lucky ones to get your hands on an iPhone, I envy you. Do tell me how it feels to have an iPhone, and how does it perform.

I’ve this weaknesses into purchasing limited-edition items (note: as long as they are affordable) just so that I would be different from anyone else. I used to think that the black DS is sleek enough, but apparently, I spoke too fast.

Apparently this beauty will be launched on August 20th, along with the new Brain Age 2. If buying a geeky-themed game means I could get my hand on one of these, then I’m in. Definetly a must have.

People usually use peep hole on a door to, well, as the name implies, peep through to see who’s outside their door. This is to decide whether they want to open the door, or ran through the back door and promise yourself to pay the 5 months overdue bill very soon.

If the one who knock at your door had one of this gadget, then you are out of luck. Using a series of lenses the reverse viewer will let you peeping into the house instead. Reverse engineering anyone? Of course, the main down turn is that everybody could happen to see you peeping into the door pretty obviously. It’s ok if they just think that you’re crazy, but it would be shameful if they came to you and told you that you are supposed to look into the peep hole from the inside. Now that would be a major embarrassment. Just keep this in mind. Other than that, the gadget is pretty tempting.

Apparently he spend so much on it since it doesn’t complaint, and he doesn’t have to spend a lot to take the relationship to the "next" level. I knew that sometimes its hard to understand a girl, but when you turn to dolls, that’s just wrong.

Holiday to Japan, anyone?

One hardware that is a definitely must have in every office is a printer. We used it to print documents, letters, price list, invoices, and many more. One recurring things with any digital printer would be, obviously, the ink. With some business that prints on a regular basis, inks would be a daily expense. And when its best to get original, manufacture genuine made ink, it could get a little pricey. Some even said that it’s not worth it to keep buying manufacturer’s ink, because after awhile, it would be better to just buy another printer and use the free ink that usually comes with it. Worry not, there are an alternatives to the problem. For those of you printer owner, who lives in UK, you could get cheap UK printer ink, delivered to your home. How convenient is that? Too bad that this service is only available in UK. At least for now.

It has been proven that these inks are as good as the original ones, but at fraction of the price. Using alternative ink does not mean reduced print quality either. Like I said before, this ink print as good, and as colorful as it would using original manufacture ink. Try some today and see how much you would save.

Seems that I cant get away early not to talk about Ratatouille. But now, I don’t want to talk about the animation of it, though it is closely related. We all know that it is about rat and cooking. The rat is good with cooking and he discover himself to be a chef. What cuisine can come from a rat ? And for you who have not know, there is actually food named Ratatouille. I believe Brad Bird was come from it when he decided to titled the movie. Now, you can see how taste and to cook the real Ratatouille.

I like Pixar animation, it is obvious  as you have seen in some of my previous post. Latest movie release is off course the little-cute-chef-rat “Ratatouille“. Yet, pixar already release it newest upcoming (summer 2008) movie, titiled “Wall-E”. By seeing its title and how the title font  made up in its trailer screen, I already sense that it is a movie about robot and i am right, it is about a robot.

To bring your appetite to the trailer, I will recap what I saw in it. It is beginning with scene on a restaurant (or bar?) window, pass through and there are 4 men. Andrew Stanton, director of ”Finding Nemo”, hang out with his  friends, talking down in a time when toy story almost complete. Stanton narrated it, if they want to build another movie (after toy story), then they must do it at that time. So, they talks and some great movies built: “a bugs life”, “monster inc”, “finding nemo” and the last idea they talked about is about robot. That would be this ”Wall-E”.  And there is Wall-E, a little robot doing with garbage, form them into millions boxes. Short after that, he look up in the sky and spell his name.

after 700 years, he was doing what he was built for, he’ll discover what he was meant for.
